Xavier Ateneo Sports Center Swimming Pool Opens April 2

Located at El Camino Real Avenue, Pueblo de Oro, Cagayan de Oro City (beside XU Grade School Pueblo), Xavier Ateneo Sports Center Swimming Pool will officially open this coming Monday, April 2, 2018 just in time for summer. Before you take the plunge, however, here’s a primer about Xavier Ateneo Sports Center Swimming Pool Use Policies and Guidelines.

Who, When and How much?

No person shall enter the pool at any unauthorized time or when a lifeguard, swimming coach, or teacher is not on duty. In addition, persons with open cuts, sores, bandages, colds, cough, skin disorders, or other communicable diseases are not permitted to use the pool while minors below 10 years old or below four (4) feet tall must be accompanied by an adult or pool authorities at all times.

Outside of PE classes and other scheduled events, the pool facility is available to users, subject to possible changes, as follows:

XU students, employees, alumni, and others with XU IDs (Php600 for five uses* of the swimming pool)

  • 6:00AM to 8:00AM – Mondays to Fridays
  • 4:00PM to 7:00PM – Mondays to Fridays
  • 6:00AM to 7:00PM – Weekends and Holidays

Guests and others without XU IDs (Php1,000 for five uses* of the swimming pool)

  • 6:00AM to 7:00PM – Non-school days (weekends and holidays)

*One use is equivalent to one day.

What to Wear?

Proper and complete swimwear is strictly required. Clothing material must be made of Lycra, Spandex, Polyester, and Nylon. Jeans, cotton shorts, and t-shirts are not allowed. Undergarments are strictly prohibited.

Male:

  • Swimming trunks (mandatory)
  • Swim cap (mandatory)
  • Goggles (optional)

Female:

  • Swimsuit (mandatory)
  • Swim cap (mandatory)
  • Goggles (optional)

What To Do?

For monitoring and security purposes, all users should log in before using and log out after using.

All swimmers are required to take a shower before taking a swim.

Cleanliness in the premises must be maintained at all times. Users must throw their trash inside designated garbage bins.

Proper personal hygiene and conduct in the pool area and shower rooms must be observed to ensure users’ health and safety.

What Not To Do?

Toys, flotation or body holding devices (water wings), snorkels, floating tubes, life jacket, and the like will be restricted in the pool at the discretion of the lifeguard or swimming coach on duty. Use of such devices shall be pre-approved by the management prior to use.

PROHIBITIONS || The following acts are strictly prohibited:

  • Jumping or any unsafe act in any part of the pool.
  • Spitting, spouting, nose blowing, and urinating in the pool.
  • Horseplay, pushing, running, and scuffling in and out of the pool.
  • Resting, hanging, or sitting off the lane ropes.
  • Wearing of diapers, sanitary napkins, and hairpins while using the pool.
  • Bringing of shoes and slippers in the pool deck area.
  • Swimming is not allowed when the pool is under treatment.
  • Smoking within the XASC vicinity.
  • Foul or abusive language including shouting.
  • Bringing of food and beverages in the pool area at any time.

Violators shall be fined or banned from using the facilities.
