Pure Japanese denim brand Bobson arrives in Cagayan de Oro

BOBSON brings Japanese denim craftsmanship and heritage to the fashion-forward Kagayanons as it finally opened last December 5, 2014 at Limketkai Center Mall.

Fashion statements these days have veered away from over-the-top pieces and details. A look at the world’s style bibles prove that simple is sophistication’s new twin sister. And the arrival of BOBSON, the pure Japanese denim brand, signals a fresh, crisp, modern, and clean approach to denim that should excite every sophisticated Pinoy fashionista.

BOBSON’s signature effortless classic style goes back to 1969, when the company was founded by Toshiharu Ozaki in Okayama, Japan. The company first produced work wear and school uniforms and eventually transitioned to jeans. Success in its home market was largely due to its introduction of denim innovations like colored jeans, the chemical-washed Super Wild Denim, the flexible BOBSON Pro, and 04 Jeans which creatively used rayon as material. Today, the brand continues its legacy of finely-crafted jeans as it expands its market in the Philippines.

“BOBSON is here to redefine the jeans scene in the Philippines. The brand aims to stand for comfort, style, and quality that are rooted in superior Japanese craftsmanship. We are excited to bring these impeccably-made jeans to the market with the arrival of BOBSON from Japan,” remarks BOBSON brand director Chris Magnaye.

Owing to its Japanese heritage, every piece from BOBSON’s collection is made with great attention to detail and commitment to quality. Proven by the intricacy of Japanese crafts such as sush-making, ikebana, and origami, each BOBSON denim creation is constructed with care and precision that allows it to offer wardrobe must-haves of unparalleled quality, comfort, and style.

“We give denim lovers pieces that make them look fashionable without the effort. Moreover, BOBSON goes beyond face value, because a touch of the fabric and examination of the construction would reveal that the fine craftsmanship is present in each pair of jeans—this is the BOBSON Denim DNA,” Magnaye explains.

Eight Denim DNAs:

  • Clean open outseam finish = Neat, clean finish
  • J-insert loop = Stronger construction
  • Authentic Japanese extended waistband = Stronger hold and durability
  • 11 stitches per inch = More refined look
  • Hang loops = less creases
  • Finer stitching = more refined look
  • Ergonomic Hand-fitted = specific function
  • Curve back risers and darts = To accentuate from behind
  • Crest-shaped back pocket design =Japanese heritage and craftsmanship

And this DNA is what sets BOBSON apart. It is the bible that serves as a guide in the creation of each pair of jeans, allowing for uniqueness that gives the wearer an experience of quality and comfort. Key elements include the left hand twill, a softer way of weave that makes every pair feel like second skin; stitch belt loops for stronger construction; and pewter rivet buttons that are more durable. BOBSON is also made with 11 stitches per inch (SPI) to achieve that coveted refined look, and finished off with the crest-shaped back pocket design to mark its Japanese heritage.

With a red dot logo that aptly reflects its roots—the land of the rising sun—BOBSON envisions itself to be the denim of choice for the stylish set who never compromise quality. “The BOBSON wearer is the polished man or woman who wants staple pieces that are clean, fresh, and simple, but always relevant. And with a look that is stylish and streamlined, the brand is definitely set to be every Filipino’s denim companion throughout the fashion seasons,” Magnaye concludes.
